SY Ribelle (2017-2021)
“RIBELLE, as the name denotes, harnesses the spirit of her Owners – experienced sailors, who decided to move from beautiful but more traditional boats to lines, materials, and the performance of the future, involving in this project Malcolm McKeon, Remi Tessier, and Vitters Shipyard. Sleek low lines for this 107ft. Malcolm McKeon naval design, built in carbon and titanium, with a unique, innovative open-sky ceiling, a lifting keel and a maximum beam of nearly 8 meters. The Owners asked Remi Tessier to interpret their idea of a very fast and sporty boat, but with interiors that match their life-style of elegant and essential lines, an innovative use of material such as copper, a silent luxury where the light, the colour of the sea and the sky can enter.”

My husband and I always have a dream. This time our dream was to experiment with new materials, with carbon and titanium. We also want to feel at home on the boat because it is going to be our home on the water.” Paola Trifirò Siniramed. “Ribelle is not an evolution of our [other] boat. With this boat we are going to another world.” Salvatore Trifirò

SY RIBELLE
“We wanted to let into the boat all the light, all the reflections of the sea” Paola and Salvatore Trifirò
Ribelle’s theme is light – both the visual kind and the absence of kilograms. The traditional deckhouse superstructure has been replaced by a glass canopy supported by carbon fibre frames; the interior feels as open as the sky above. A lot of attention went into the transition from on deck to below. The companionway is wide and welcoming, with gentle steps and plenty of handholds. It ushers guests into what is truly another world.

OUR DESIGN FOR LIFE
Paola Trifirò does everything with love, passion and joy. Paola’s husband, Salvatore, introduced her to sailing and they have owned more than a dozen boats, sailing the world. “Every stage of our lives has had a boat in it, and in recent years we started building our own,” says Paola.
What Paola loves is cooking, so designing the galley was very important. “There are three sources of energy that drive a sailing boat,” she says. “One is the wind, another is the engine. The third is food.”

Love every second: Ribelle
When a young Paola Siniramed, freshly graduated – magna cum laude – from Milano University’s Law Faculty, met Salvatore Trifirò, already a brilliant young lawyer, the two ambitious Italians quickly fell head over heels in love. Salvatore, already a passionate sailor, was quick to introduce his soon-to-be bride to his love for the water, taking weekends to sail on his 7-metre sailing boat on Lake Como, close to their home city of Milan. Paola “quickly realised the wonderful possibilities that come with a life on the water,” and after undertaking some serious studying and training at sailing schools, included a tricky celestial navigation course, so began what would become a lifetime affair with yachting.
SAILING “Sailing is a dream. It allows you to really discover the world, to happen upon secluded beaches and coves that you can’t do otherwise. We’re always looking for hidden places to explore. It’s a fantastic experience.” Paola Trifirò

A love affair
The couple has a long experience in sailing and three world tours to their name: he has been sailing since he was a boy and she as long as she has known him. The list of their boats is a long one, to say the least; here we mention only a few for the record: from the first seven-and-a-half-metre Calife, a sloop built by the Jouet yard, to vintage boats (“a beautiful 21-metre ketch, Kalea, the last produced by Cantieri di Pisa, with a lovely fireplace”). And it was with Kalea that Paola began to exert her vision of design through a radical transformation of the interior; this vision would subsequently characterise all her boats. Then there was the 50-metre Zefira designed by Ed Dubois and built by the New Zealanders at Fitzroy Yachts and, finally, Ribelle “to continue racing but also cruising, in a less demanding size and with truly spectacular interiors”.

October 2021, farewell Ribelle!
“After a fantastic summer spent sailing between Greek islands and brisk wind, ancient monuments and turquoise bays, the time has come to say goodbye to Ribelle: beautiful, brave, unique, winning boat!
There is certainly no end to the love for the sea, which is always in our hearts, nor for boats, which are still the most graceful creatures in the world, not even for our beloved Ribelle, who sailed with us for many years brilliant, and victorious.
But we have now the desire to try another adventure, so be it.” Paola Trifirò Siniramed
